Unauthorized Subscriptions
Twice in the past, I've noticed mysterious charges on my bank account stemming from Amazon taking the liberty to "subscribe" me to one of their services. Both of those incidents were regarding "Prime" membership. Neither time did I request, let alone authorize, this. The only reason I caught it, was that the charges reflected on my account statement.
This week, I saw an Amazon charge appear in the amount of $9.99 for "Amazon Music Unlimited!"
I immediately contacted Amazon customer support (agent seemed helpful, but did she get the problem resolved? Yet to find out), the registered a dispute on my bank account. Since the transaction was still in "pending" mode, I thought I could prevent it from coming to fruition. Today, however, it's clear that Amazon proceeded with the transaction as if there were no problem at all.
It's no wonder Jeff Bezos is the wealthiest entrepreneur in the world!
Today, I removed any active accounts from my Amazon account. I refuse to do any kind of business at all with these virtual thieves. Also, contacted Amazon support again to follow-up on the disputed transaction. They say a refund has been issued, but it takes 3 to 5 business days for it to reflect on my bank account.
These practices are intolerable and unacceptable.
And I'm certainly not the only one caught up in this aggressive sales technique, everyone I've talked to that has dealt with Amazon online has experienced similar problems.

Update on Amazon Music Unlimited unauthorized membership
As of yesterday, the amount of the authorized purchase has been credited to my bank account, however, I'm not sure it was Amazon's doing, or my bank, since I registered a dispute on the charge.
Nevertheless, the situation is resolved.
Now, I hope it doesn't happen again, so I have to keep a careful eye on Amazon and their "practices!" It's like trying to keep small children out of the proverbial "cookie jar!"
