Re: Latest Reading Project

Since my last post I've finished "Double Tap" by Steve Martini (interesting in a legal thriller sort of way), "Cradle and All" by James Patterson (eerie with a touch of Exorcist, Rosemary's Baby, Stephen King and Dean Koontz) and am now into "Grant" by Jean Smith which is still on the NYT best selle...

Re: Latest Reading Project

Wrapped up Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy - Eric Metaxas and began a Steve Martini thriller titled "Double Tap". Next I want to tackle Bonhoeffer's "Cost of Discipleship", probably his most well-known publication.

Temporal vs Non-temporal data

This data is usually considered to be valid now. Past or future data is not stored. Past data refers to data which was stored in the database at an ...

Latest Reading Project

After wrapping-up James Robertson's "Stonewall Jackson", I began the New York TImes Best Selling work, "Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy" by Eric Metaxas. I would be interested to hear what others have to say about this book, the man, and the man's writings.

Multi-site Network impact on host CPU utilization

About 3 weeks ago, my hosting account suspended my domain (this one) for violation of terms. The applications running on my piece of the shared server over-stepped the bounds of my allotment (which I can't figure out, the hosting company advertises unlimited resources for hosting), anyway it appears...

Barbara Coleman nee Woodbridge lost her four year battle with ovarian cancer on November 30, 2011. We had all been planning to get together in Branson, Missouri, and/or in Pinckneyville, Illinois, but Barbara's last few months put a heavy strain on her stamina and energy level. Fortunately, we were ...

BuddyPress and Spammer Registrants

There is an option in the general settings of the control panel to either allow or disallow "anyone" to register. The level of control is not very flexible in the given functionality. It is up to a plugin, or series of plugins to control and regulate user registration. This is a time consuming and t...

Re: They Must Have Been Watching Me Read About Their Scam!

As I continue to be sore about getting canned by Google AdSense, I've done a little more reading about the scamming going on. It only adds to the frustratio trying to deal with ad services, being that they are not consolidated with all of the other Google niceties for website administrators, and the...

Re: They Must Have Been Watching Me Read About Their Scam!

It did not take them long to reply to my appeal. After thanking me for my "side of the story" their decision stands. Did they even read "my side of the story"? Probably not. I have now installed a couple of other ad services, a couple that I had used in the past and still had an active account with,...
